Best Practice for Fiber Maintenance and Troubleshooting in Data Centers
Maintaining the fiber network in a datacenter is simple – just leave it alone. However, problems may arise or you may be forced to upgrade or add new devices. This presentation will explain how to track down faults or determine if your infrastructure is capable of supporting those new devices and applications.
In the presentation we will look at the requirements of your fiber infrastructure to support new and future applications such as insertion loss and reflectance. We will demonstrate at the role of accurate and complete documentation in making this determination.
We’ll show how your existing networking equipment can provide clues to links that may have problems. And even if you don’t use an OTDR every day, we will explore tips and tricks to use this powerful tool to identify any physical problems in the fiber infrastructure and where they are located.
